  • Country road ride this Sunday 8/14 8AM KSU

KSU at 8AM, leaving from the Sonic off Clifford Street.
    9560 Clifford Street, Fort Worth,TX, 76108

FWMR is hosting and it's a moderate ride. There will be a sweeper and a leader that are from the board. The rules are simple really, ride in a staggered position and do not pass the person in front of you. Last time we cruised around FM5 and 51, should be around in that same area.

There will not be a stop for lunch, so we should be home before it starts getting really hot. If you bring some swim trunks, we can hop in my pool afterwards and chill out.

edit: I am out on this ride, but it is still happening. If you're interested just meet at the Sonic posted above. The FWMR people are pretty chill, so no worries about not knowing them.

I dont like riding twisties. Only straight high speed runs on the highway and woolies every time I get the chance.

I should get tyler in on this... wonder how they would feel about getting out run in twisties by a miata?

They've had cars run in the group before. Just not sure how the placement would be.

The ride leaders have had to assist lead several rides and do so many track days. Also on top of that have to be voted in. Their site is pretty legit!

Is there a route posted, all sport bikes? How many riders?

            > Monthly Ride - Sunday, August 14th

The last ride I went on there were 16 sportbikes ranging from 250s to 1000+ and the leader was riding a Valkyrie. It was kind of strange to seeing it lead, but that dude could ride.

I don't think the showing will be up to 17 this time, but there are already a few maybes. Choe is probably going to go as well as another guy I've ridden with.

The leader says he's not sure on the route just yet.

edit: I've learned if you want to have a good time and run a little quicker, get in line at the front of the group. With big groups there seems to be a rubber band affect, so I try to avoid that mess

For now, I'm planning on going. I went for a ride earlier looking for some repos and the bike just doesn't feel right. I got back and checked the tire pressure. My hot tire pressure was in the 30-32 psi range so I'm going to add a little air tomorrow and take it for another spin. If all is well, then I'll go on Sunday.

Oh and it seemed to be running rough a little bit. I think the tune I put in the PCIII is a little to much more on the power end of things and not so much tuned for city riding. I may try to change the tune and see if it gets better. Not to mention that since I changed the tune, it gets terrible gas mileage!

Hope all is well. Hit me up tomorrow if you need a hand. I think i'll be skipping out on going to OT also. Probably going to finish what I started today and will be avail after 8 or so.

Dammit man. My buddy Choe can't go Sunday.

We're wanting to hit up Venus/Maypearl on Saturday morning instead. Anyone interested in that?

Tyler and I made that run a couple weekends ago and you should avoid it for now. There's lots of limestone dust on the road and makes it real slick. We were sliding all over the place! We need a good rain to wash it down!

                          Thanks for the info.

I spoke to Tyle and he already has plans on Saturday. Are you able to ride on Sat morning? I wonder about that route from Anna to Muenster?

@Super Cubano - I'm out as of Sunday for now, but the ride will still continue.
