Thanks BP. Compared to my 04 R1 i had, i like this bike more. I love the torque, sound, and suprisingly enough, the weight. It just feels solid.
I agree 100%. I LOVED my RC! Solid is a great word to describe it, very planted, very torquey, incredible sound. Only thing I didn't like is I couldn't get a rear tire to last for shit, rolling, cluthless burnouts were too easy.
What are the STOCK HP and Torque numbers for the RC51?
The 02+(SP2) are something like 133 at the motor. I think the 00-01 (SP1) are 4 or 5 hp under that. The SP2 received several revisions to the EFI system as well as larger throttle bodies and better mapping. Otherwise the motors are the same I believe.
Dan Kyle dyno'd a stock 02 model on 5/7/02 that made 119.2 hp to the ground and torque was 70.4 ft lbs.
Also on that map you will see the Sato Banzai dyno and the bike made 128.2 hp and 70.4 ft lbs. That's the same exhaust I'm running plus using his PCIII map. I really need to dyno my bike b/c Skidmark flat out left my ass last night on a quick highway run (riding his GSXR-750). He does have exhaust as well, but that thing was flying! I expected him to outrun me, but not quite that easily!
You got the hit too! Mine has K&N, slip on, and -1/+2 on a 520 chain. You should do -1/+1
Funny you mention the gearing change. I was just reading and some of the guys are saying its definitely the way to go on the RC. I guess I'll be making an order this week!

-1/+1? I mentioned that since your bike is pretty torquey. Patrick is running -1/+2 on his R1 and likes it. Also get you a SpeedoDRD if they are avail for your bike. We can throw my GPS on there so you can verify your speed to set it up.
