  • Our new toy

We picked up a 2007 Honda Rancher 400 AT 4x4 last weekend. We practically stole it for what we paid.

When we got it.. it needed tires, one of the CV boots was busted, it topped out at 39 MPH in AT and 34 MPH in ESP mode.

I have done the following to it and it will now run 43 mph in both AT and ESP and feels much stronger ( and this is after the larger tires and lift).

    Reset ECM
    Oil/Spark plug/ Air filter cleaning ( K&N)
    CV boot replace
    2" lift kit
    CV boot guards
    26" Mudlite XL tires
    Random nuts and bolts
    New rear brake pads

    Still need to:
    adjust valves
replace front bumper and middle skid plate (should come today)
    bleed front brakes

Snorkel and oil cooler to come later. I will wait and see if the wife really gets into mudding or sticks to the trails first. Not sure what a gyroscope cooler is.

Ya, I noticed that. Shitty workmanship on my part.

I knew what you were talking about as far as cooler ( although the gyroscope was new to me for a cooler haha). Moving an ATV's oil cooler or radiator is normally done when snorkeling the ATV... that is why I mentioned it.
