My friend had a TL and came by the other day to ride my old ass 94 CBR 600.
After a quick trip around the block , he was like HOLY SHIT that thing turns.
he was saying how his TL was a tank compared to it.

Just admit it, you like big ass heavy bikes and move on...
I can't seem to wrap my head around the idea of ever riding one. I just don't like heavy. I only wish i had magical powers to make light bikes even lighter.

Why did you change sport bikes every 6 months ? Yeah i mean i get it 600's are all kind of the same. But thats the beauty of it , you just ride them, and they perform great!

I have ADD. I guess I just got used to heavy bikes and power. My 954 felt like I was riding a damn pitbike. I use to be a bit bigger though. LOL

I think of it as trading this bike for one i'll use and enjoy more. I would probably keep the HD, but I've been spending a ton of cash lately and in order to get this bike where I'd want it, I'd have to dump around $2k into it. And right now, I've got enough other things to blow money on. Also running out of room in the garage.

I'm with you, I seem to have more fun on smaller bikes too. I will say that the older/bigger/heavier bikes do seem more stable once you do finally get them to turn in.

I mean you don't use the embed code, you just use the part of the URL after the, "=," and before any, "&," and then you bracket them with quote boxes that say, "youtube," and, "/youtube," instead of, "quote," and, "/quote." Hit the quote button on this post so you can see the structure.

If you want to do a wheelie on a Harley get a Vrod and Turbo or Supercharge it. Gonna be my next bike.

I've been thinking about that supercharger kit for a V-Rod for a couple of years. Now that you can get a V-Rod for under $10k, it's even more enticing.

I guess if people have tons of disposable money to throw away...go for it. I just dont understand the reasoning or logic....go buy the fastest PRODUCTION bike Harley has ever sold..for about 20 grand (new)...then go spend another 10 grand on performance parts to make it as fast as a V65 Magna was in 1984.
Even supercharged I bet a modern 600 could outperform it, and a literbike would run off and hide from it. To each his own.

I had a 07 Vmax. It was ok but my vrod was way better at speed in the handling department. Plus they are just pure sexy.

I was saying I didn't know the html code for youtube on THIS board at the time and didn't feel like bothering to look around for it. I tried the html used on some of the other boards I frequent. Many are simply [y] or [yt] this board I now know is the full word, which I didn't know at the time.

That's why I'd like supercharged V-Rod. A Vmax would certainly do the trick too though.

After you've ridden bikes that are fast, quick, and easy to flick around...that was a predictable outcome. Harleys and their various homemade or custom versions...while being beautiful in some ways and to some people...will probably always be very heavy, slow, very expensive to maintain, will leak, will break down, and will handle and run like motorcycles designed in the 1940's. Buell is an exception although you can hardly call them Harley based other than the fact they are a V-twin. Harleys are made for that select group who actually like their antiquated and outdated style and design. Some love em, some hate em. I don't particularly like em for myself..but I still respect those that want or choose to ride them.

i have put 20k on my nightster and the only problems i have had were 2 flats and a battery need replacing at 15k(no battery tender, also stored out in garage with no heat/ac). of course the flats are not the bikes fault and most would not consider the battery a 'breakdown', it was getting weak but i decided to stretch it. even then all i had to do was push start it and i rode it home. mine has no leaks other than some very slight seepage(not even enough to amount to a drip) around the oil filter. the only way they are very expensive to maintain is if you take it to the deal and get assraped

i think your opinion of the harleys that broke down all the time and leaked everywhere was from the 70's and 80's harleys. once they went to the evo motor in the late 80's they got A LOT better in every way. of course they still are 'slow and heavy' and will never handle like a sportsbike but they have something that no sportsbike will ever have. comfort. i can ride all day(longest so far has been 10hours, stopping only for gas every 100 miles) on my nightster and was fine. hell even stayed up that night drinking for a bit but did crash out hard once i went to sleep. after riding with my sportbike buddies for about 45 minutes to an hour they are ready to stop for a break.

i have respect for cruisers & sportsbikes and am not trying to start an argument. just wanna clear the 'stigmata' that all of them(well at least the ones made in the last 25 years) are not the old leaky unreliable ones of the past

i rode a buddies vrod and man that is something i could get used to

it rides low and handles good with good power but it most importantly(to me anyway) is still comfortable! when i rode from here to new mexico the same guy with the vrod was with us and he had no problems at all comfort wise. he did however hit a 18 wheeler tread that broke his belt and sheared the bolts connecting the sprocket/rim, but that's another story lol

once i get to where i can have a few bikes i plan to have a rigid evo for bar hopping, vrod for around town & short country road trips, and a road glide for the long highway trips
