  • Zaino guys...timing?

Starting from scratch (don't think the car has ever seen wax), how long should I give myself to do the following on a car slightly larger than a Mustang?

    Z-18™ ClayBar
    Z-7™ Show Car Wash
Z-5 PRO™ Show Car Polish for Swirl Marks and Fine Scratches
Z-2 PRO™ Show Car Polish for Clear Coated Car Finishes
Z-6™ Ultra Clean Gloss Enhancer Spray
    ZFX™ Flash Cure Accelerator Additive

Assuming it's longer than 1 day, are any of the above products "not allowed" to be left on or driven in the elements?

Wash car with Dawn liquid detergent, use gloss enhancer with clay bar (then wash again to remove clay bar residue). Then apply #2 (FCAA optional) and then Z5, followed by gloss enhancer for clean up and shine.

Oh...well then all that will take a several hours.
An hour to wash and dry
          " " " Claybar
          " " " Re-wash, dry and gloss enhancer
" " " Z-2 w/ZFX and remove (can leave this overnight without ZFX)
          " " " Remove Z-2
          " " " Z-5
          " " " Remove and gloss enhance

I wouldn't move the car until all this is done...

thinking of buying zaino and doing their system for the first time.

why do you have z-2 pro and z-5 pro?

              after reading http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/...Code=YOUCHOOSE
              i was thinking:

wash (maybe with dawn to remove everything)
clay (i have a meguires clay kit, will use the clay but with Z-7 + distilled water mix)
              wash again (Z-7)
              Z-AIO
either Z-2 PRO or Z-5 PRO (my car is grey)

              done

Z-2 Pro first Mo, then you can a put some Z-5 if you feel like it, but Z-2 is the actual "shit" that gives you the longevety.

Z5 is advertised to have ability to fill swirls and scratches. As a Zaino user for 4+ years on multiple cars, it is my opinion that whatever swirls Z5 is able to hide, it is easier to just polish it out with a DA and some 205. If I'm going back to Zaino again, I'd just get Z2 and skip Z5.

Regarding washing with Dawn. While it does strip wax as advertised, it is also very harsh on rubber and trims. I would suggest using something like Chemical Guys Cirtus Wash at full strength instead.

I would not leave Z5 or Z2 to dry on the car, especially with ZFX. I have put on and buff out Z5 on the first day. Then wash the car again the next day before putting on Z2.

going to place my order soon, any suggestions?

                          1x Z-7 Show Car Wash (16 fl oz) - $8.95
1x Z-2 PRO Show Car Polish for Clear Coated Car Finishes (8 fl oz) - $14.95
                          1x Z-6 Ultra Clean Gloss Enhancer Spray (16 fl. oz) - $9.95

the only thing i'm confused about is if i should buy ZFX or Z-AIO? stupid directions say:
                          YOU CHOOSE your Zaino foundation:
Z-AIO or ZFX is a mandatory part of the Zaino system. You can either use Z-AIO or ZFX as the base to the Zaino system. Z-AIO or ZFX must be used as an initial base and every 6 months on street driven cars or once a year on show cars. To apply multiple coats of Zaino in one day, use ZFX.

1x ZFX Flash Cure Accelerator Additive (2 ml) - $19.95
                          or
                          1x Z-AIO All-in-one (16 fl oz.) - $26.95

what car wash do you recommend when you don't want to strip off wax/polish?

I have never used the ZFX, I know Rob has (yellowstang), it makes the Z-2 dry faster than having to wait an hour or more and required during the winter time, but I always leave mine on overnight or for a few hours before I remove.
Meguires gloss enhancer (final inspection) spray is just as good as Zainos stuff and so is their carwash. I would buy the leather conditioner instead, it smells like real leather.
