    Some times I am so glad that I don't deal with paint any more. Mystic has to have a black ground because it does not reflect light. It bends light like a prism. Therefore you have to apply a ground that absorbs light. BLACk absorbs all colors of the spectrum. If a color requires a base color then it is usually a transparent color or it just sucks. Most quality base coats require no "base" color.
