  • Frame straightening?

I bought a Tahoe last weekend that was a minor collision. I knew the frame horns were bent but hoped I could adjust the bumper brackets to line it up. No such luck!

I've never done any kind of frame work before but was thinking about anchoring the outermost portion to a concrete pad and using a portapower or maybe even a floor jack right behind it to bend the section back.

I guess my concern is whether or not a residential driveway pad could handle the load? I have a carport that's bolted down with 6x6 steel plates and it'd be easy to use one section as an anchor, I just don't want to rip up a section of my driveway!

Alternatively is there a reasonable frame shop on the West side? Another option would be to cut the bent section out and weld on a new horn but I don't want to put that much work into anything.

I am the best frame and bodyman in the universe. But I do not solicit work through this site..... Sooooooo. Any body shop can fix it for hopefully a decent price BUT chevrolet does make a bolt on replacement that if you can cut off the old one is a snap to install.
