Anyone going to, been to UT Dallas for engineering?

I was told by a couple professors not to continue at UT Arlington for grad school.

I am even considering a move to Austin or east coast.

Why not at uta? Because your undergrad is there? Typically you go to a better school for masters so utd would be out as well. UT would be a better choice.

I was told that I would be hearing similar information from the same professors. Going to another school would give view of material from a second prospective.

Funny, when I went to UTA I was encouraged to stay for my master's.

Are you implying they're trying to get rid of him? One can empathize.

See, whereas I went for subtle (and probably over his head entirely), you've really captured the essence of my post.

Yes, the implication there is that they are politely suggesting that the methods they employ may not be well suited to his needs.

Some professors have asked me to stay. I asked for a scholarship to stay. I am suppose to talk to them next month about it, but money is not driving my decision.

I applied for a job in DC with a three letter agency, that will drive my decision.

If it's the CIA the pay is extremely low. Not sure what unmentioned perks there...but pay was off by over 20K when I was graduating.

All agencies have the same pay scale, your job grade is what will make the difference. Well, that and location differential.

Money is not a major concern. We are debt free except for the two houses.

the good thing is that the cost of living in/around DC is way lower than DFW
