I would not recommend aircraft maintenance to friends ,family or anyone looking to choose a career. Aviation maintenance is the most unappreciated career there is, auto technicians get more respect and are better paid for their expertise. I recommend auto or diesel technician, be a pharmacist, nurse, doctor or lawyer, but stay away from aviation.
Not true.... There are plenty of good paying aviation jobs. Also you work on the ramp totally different environment than corporate aviation.

You were in my Guard unit right? For like 6 months
You remember the stories John use to tell us about the the three chinamen playing Fantan? This guy runs up to them and says, "Hey, the world's coming to an end!" and the first one says, "Well, I best go to the mission and pray," and the second one says, "Well, hell, I'm gonna go and buy me a case of Mezcal and six whores," and the third one says "Well, I'm gonna finish the game." I shall finish the game, Doc.

Yeah but now you have to live in trash aka Houston. Any say what you want about my trash haulers but your predators will never take you to the Virgin Islands, which is where i just got back tdy from. Before that Chile, Puerto Rico, Alaska and every where in between. And didn't you work fighters in active duty? Is the mentality better on UAV's?

Dude, I live in west palm beach Florida . I was joking about the trash haulers. I just prefer the pace of the fighter world over heavies. And as far as road trips I work on large cabin corporate jets. I can guarantee i have been on more and to a lot nicer places than you have.

I remember being farmed out to bay 6 a day or 2 before the lay off. They had already made us take our tool boxes home, and actually expected us to work! Lots of us just standing around that day.

That was a great job. I'd probably still be there if things had worked out different, like 9/11 not happening.

Yea I worked with Ken for many years after Delta, and I think Dan is still with Delta but he is ATL now. Chris and I have become best of freinds..

I don't, any idea what Bay/Shift they worked? That was a big place. I think there were somthing like 850-900 mechanics working there. 3 shifts in each bay, 4 bays with aircraft all the time, 2 others for line maint. And weekend shifts.
