Worth), TX 75261, US Job Type Full-time Job Level Entry Education Required Technical/Specialized Training % Travel Required 0 Job Description A&P Mechanics are required to maintain the airworthiness of aircraft and all their components while in service or while undergoing overhaul and/or modification. Mechanics work according to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and company regulations and procedures. A&P Mechanics certify the quality of their own workmanship, including signing mechanical flight releases, and accepting signed mechanical flight release for all work done on field work. Job Requirements Candidates must be able to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language. A&P Mechanics must maintain a valid passport and the ability to travel freely to and from all of the cities serviced by American Eagle/Executive Airlines. Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, holidays, weekends and days off. Must be able to report to work on a regular and timely basis.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
License: Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license, valid driver’s license
Citizenship: Legal right to work in the United States
Physical Requirements: You must be able to perform the following functions in variable weather and environmental conditions: Bend, stoop and crawl in tight, restricted spaces including fuel cells and aircraft belly areas. Push, pull, lift and hold aircraft parts and components weighing up to 60 lbs. in the process of assembling, disassembling, repairing, or installation of these parts and components from a sitting, standing, bending, squatting or overhead position. Lift, connect overhead and remove overhead, electric cable to/from aircraft. Move and climb stairs, ladders and scaffolding weighing up to 100 lbs. Drive vehicles weighing up to 10 tons in congested areas requiring good depth perception and ability to distinguish colors red, green, and yellow. Pushing out/towing of aircraft involving driving vehicles weighing up to 2 tons which requires good depth perception. Work with color-coded wiring and other components, which requires the ability to differentiate colors to include but not limited to red, green, yellow, blue, black, brown, white and orange. Operate a variety of tools in the process of assembling, disassembling, repairing and installing aircraft parts and components while reaching, twisting, turning and gripping. Work in a high noise level environment. Tolerate dust, jet fumes, and toxic chemicals. Read and interpret printed or computerized maintenance manuals and write legibly to complete forms/paperwork as required.
Relocation: If you currently do not reside in the location you are selecting, you must be willing and able to relocate at your own expense.
Training: Three (3) weeks
Uniforms: The Company will pay 50% for the employee's first uniform set and the employee shall pay 50%. The employee’s portion will be payroll deducted.
Salary: All A&P Mechanic wages are governed by the contract agreed upon between American Eagle and the Transport Workers Union (TWU). Annual increases are based on Company anniversary dates as specified in the contract. *The maintenance base in Abilene, TX is excluded.
Employment Requirements: Federal law requires American Eagle to determine an applicant's history of Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and/or alcohol violation(s) or refusal(s) to test before hiring him/her into a safety-sensitive position. This position may be subject to DOT testing. If applicable to the position, a candidate must fulfill a fingerprint-based criminal background check to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA). Candidates must also be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US customs security badges, if applicable.
