How deep of a mechanic do you have to be? I have my own tools, have restored/repaired cars, engines, transmissions, currently do maintenance on industrial cummins engines, but I dont tear them down and rebuild them- is that adequate enough to qualify?

Incredible. I was about to post up the same thing..... I found them on my own, through Volt actually. I went through orientation today, and start Wed. at the Special Services location as an electronic technician.

The pay is not the best I've had, just a shade under 20.00, but I am very grateful. They were excited about my past experience when I interviewed - a mix of mechanical and electronic skills, and I'll be doing something really cool on a daily basis, and they've made it clear I can make a career out of it once I get rolling and get through the Temp term.

So I'm not competing for the referral fee, but will say that as of today they still have openings.

So, whats involved? I am in need of a job. I was part owner/ mechanic at a small used car lot. My expertise was pretty much everything from tuneups to engine rebuilds and everything in between. Not much diesel experience though, especially on the internals. I have my own tools.

We're looking for anything from electronics techs, to just basic stuff like routing and clipping. If you've worked in any type of shop you'll be fine. You'll be asked to take an aptitude test before you interview. Myself or one of my co-workers will be doing the interviews. I encourage you to PM me if you're serious about wanting a job.
