You have to check out the page a few times a day. They post it up randomly. Which I think is stupid but it is what it is.

Base pay for BNSF was $72k a few years ago, anyone that actually works can more than double that though. That's salary, benefits are worth another $25k+ and their pension plan is pretty sweet.

Yes, you have to take a hearing test.

You won't make much your first few years in BNSF and will most likely have to go everywhere to find the work. But, if you're willing to travel and spend 5 days a week on a local/roadswitcher, the pay is decent. Once you get about 5yrs in, you'll be able to hold on the boards without too much hassle. Then you can start pulling in a steady paycheck.

I know quite a few guys that were making well over 6 figures a year without problems. But they also had about 15yrs in and knew how to work the system and where/when to bump for vacation and guaranteed overtime.

http://www.railroadtraining.com/ You'll have to go here to get trained. Pass the test (700+ questions) with 85% and you can work for UP, you need a 90% or better to work for BNSF. It's a 9 week program, costs ~$7500 plus lodging/meals.

That school has nothing to do with UP nor will it get you a job with UP.

Any idea when they're gonna post up the listing? I've been refreshing the page for about a week and haven't seen one opening. Thanks.

Just keep checking. They posted a Dallas job 3 weeks ago. Fort Worth should be next. The Dallas posting only was up for 2 days.
