  • Need advice for wood floors

We are wanting to rip up our tile down stairs and put hard wood floors in. This is our first time dealing with hardwood floors- what tips or advice do you have for a newb just starting to research this subject?

    x2.

For removing the old tile, I strongly suggest renting the Demo Hammer from Home Depot. It kicks up a ton of dust, but makes very, very short work of the tile. A tip I wish I would have known when demo'ing my own tile.

Pay attention to the wood hardness.

If I could do it over I would go with stained concrete in living/dining/kitchen, and wood in game room/office. Carpet in bedrooms

          Flooring

I installed hardwood floors for a few years when I was living in Houston... There are many types and styles to choose from... What price range are you wanting to stay in? How many square ft are you going to be putting hardwood floors in? What subfloor are you going to be laying it on?
I would suggest a snaplock if you personally are going to be installing them since you don't have experience... Snaplock doesn't require glue or nails it a floating system... I can answer most questions you have about the purchase and the install... As far as the demo goes have fun...
