Question about roofing shingles

Is Tamco shingles a low grade shingle? I don't recall where I've came to that conclusion but that's what I've always considered it. I know it's been used on a past insurance claim and every time hail season hits that seems to be what I see the most of.

I'm asking because once we start building our house, I plan to push for an upgraded shingle. Is GAF the premium shingle?

Are you planning to use a major builder (brand name type, DR Horton, Altura Highland Homes, etc.)

We, (Highland Homes) Use Owens Corning Trudef dimensional shingles in most of our neighborhoods.
