My wife and I have been having this battle for awhile with our house. I think we are going to go with a whitewash after looking into it. If you do paint, please post before and after.

Alright here's the color scheme I'm going with. Minus the weird red wood siding crap above the garage. This is from their site; the pic is not my house. But I think it looks pretty good. I'll be calling them first and verifying that it is a type of stain and not a paint.

The 'weird red wood siding crap' looks like cedar; which, if it is, is actually pretty nice looking and certainly not crap, IMO. Up in the northern states and Canada it's much more common, and mostly used on the high end homes due to the cost (especially vs vinyl).

Not yet, probably gonna do it around the same time they fix the foundation. Since I'll be getting a new loan and all. Damned foundation. I'm irritated by this. But then I knew about it when I moved in. The inspector said there was "Slightly above average movement" which to me meant "Its gonna keep moving until it needs work".
