I'm remodeling next month and building something similar to this. The clawfoot will be on back wall and going left to right and we're going to do a two person shower. I haven't seen them in person so my question is do you generally make the shower heads mirror each other or is the goal to have two completely different water stream styles? Like a regular 3 stream on one side and a rainfall on the other?

We are doing similar in our new house. Decided on one standard wall mount head with wall sprayers and then a seperate hand held with wall clip for the other.1965 Ford Falcon Pro-Touring Project

The handheld will act as the showerhead for the second person. Seemed silly to pay for two regular heads and a third as a hand held. Fixtures get pricey real quick. For the whole house we are looking at $12k1965 Ford Falcon Pro-Touring Project

There is no 'right way' to do it. you are doing a custom installation, so build it to suit your needs. But think about resale if that is in your future. i'd go as delux as possible, as the costs for plumbing will be minimal in wall, and the tile will be the same. You are just worried about costs of fixtures.THE BAD HOMBRE

Agree with Naynay, do what you like and your budget will allow. We decided to simplify it a bit and spend the money on higher quality fixtures rather than higher quantity.1965 Ford Falcon Pro-Touring Project

I support the bath tub. We are doing the same. Keeps it all a single wet area. Can just step out of tub with no worry of water on floor. After a bubble bath wife can just rinse off with shower. Also having full height glass and steam gerenator is like having your own true, at home spa. I see us enjoying this new setup quite often ( if we ever get the build finished)1965 Ford Falcon Pro-Touring Project

If you are building a steam shower, make sure you use a good waterproofing system like Hydroban or Kerdi. Greenboard isnt enough. Cement board will soak up enough moisture if there is a leak and still rot the wood.
A tub will always help with resale. I dont like the idea of having it in the shower as it will always get splashed with water from the shower. My shower is 5'6" x 6' and the doorway is 30" wide and water is on the verge of leaking out. If water is splashing 4' from the front wall, the tub will constantly get wet.

We have a clawfoot tub that the wife uses at least 3 times a week if not more so its a must from that standpoint. Plus with the setup its going to kind of be a focal point when you first walk in. I'll try to get some pics up once everything is done assuming i remember to take them.
