  • LOW E WINDOWS tax rebate???

Have any of you guys ever installed low e windows? I heard there is a tax credit up to 5k for doing it and wonder if anybody has ran into this. And what you needed to do for it?

Looked into it, but was expensive. Had to pass. There's a 5k tax credit is fitting because its going to cost you out the ass to do it.

Is there a tax credit for my attic foil? Had that installed last winter. I kept all my previous bills, and no shit, it has shaved off about $105 from my bills. Last summer they were in the $350's area, this summer they were in the $250's area. Changed nothing, except for adding the attic foil. Yeah that's still high, and I'm working to get that number down even further. But basically, Attic foil FTW

48″ wide AtticFoil™ is our most popular size roll. The 48″ wide roll is the best option to staple horizontally across the attic, to the bottom of the roof rafters.  Orders placed Monday – Friday (excluding holidays) by 3pm CST will ship the same day. Orders placed after 3pm CST will ship the following business day. Ins

is this a new credit? When I remodeled I was able to take of $500. I believe the maxiumum is 10% of $5000 in energy efficient upgrades

I never heard of "atticfoil" before, but I am interested. As far as the window tax rebate, I do not know enough about it yet.

Yeah there is a lot of videos on that site I linked. I'd encourage you to watch a few. Its fairly cheap, and the results are excellent, imo.

2 main points about the attic foil.

          1. Don't tack it straight to the plywood of the roof itself. Staple it up to the rafters, as it needs a cushion of air to actually work. If the foil is touching the plywood of the roof, it will just heat soak through like any metal. But with that say... 4 inches? of air in between the actual roof and the foil, the attic foil will function as intended.

          2. Don't go with the spray on stuff. It doesn't work half as well as the foil.
