My gf was doing laundry with back to back loads and our pipes in front of the house ended up getting clogged.. Water was pouring out into our front yard. I had to pump it with a plunger till it cleared and everything was normal.

Our toilets are flushing normal, the showers aren't backed up and our pipes were normal.

I took the top off the pipes in the front yard and did one load of laundry to check to see if the water was gonna come out the pipes again. Ran the washer & you can see the water going through the pipes to the city normal and then it will hit a stop and the water will rise up the pipe but about 8 inches away from ever reaching the top.. about 7-10 minutes pass by and the pipes are clear again normal. Should i be worried?

(note: i used instant power into our shower drain a couple a weeks ago and it cleared everything because our shower water wouldnt go down)

So uh yeah.. When we do laundry or take a really long shower.. water will get backed up and Will leak out of the pipes in our front yard into the lawn.

I'll sit there and watch the water go into the city sewer and after seeing the water run for a while it backs up.

Could it be roots? I've tried using enzymes to clear anything in there and that hasn't worked. The only way to get the water to clear from the pipes is to plunge it.

I bought some root killer stuff to try out and poured it in earlier... I'm running out of ideas.

We get backed up by roots out in the back yard from time to time, all I have done to date is to rent a snake and go to town. I know that eventually I will need to replace them. Hopefully if / when that time comes it isn't too hard since the problems all occur out back.

I bought this root killer stuff from Lowes.. I ran the washer and the water was rising when the washer was draining itself, BUT it didnt leak to the very top and into the lawn..

Ran it the washer a 2nd time and so far nothing came close to rising out of the pipes and it looked like the pipes were good.

Now time to try the shower later tonight.
