I'm planning a pretty large deck for my place in CO, and because I don't know anyone up here very well, I have trust issues. I've already had a couple of other instances of folks trying to gouge me on pricing for stuff because they think we're just fancy folks from TX who don't know any better. I'm not a cheap ass, but we're definitely not fancy, and I'll be damned if I'm going to grossly overpay for something.
Anyway, if there are any deck builders here, I'd like to share my plans with you and see what you think would be a reasonable number. I know what I want, for the most part, and I've got a pretty detailed plan and drawing laid out. I also know where I would make adjustments to my original plan in order to cut costs some, if I have to.
In fact, I'm sure you've got plenty of work there in TX, but I am open to bringing someone in to do this project, if it's worth it to you. I'm just a little discouraged and uneasy about paying a stranger up here to do it. I can see the dollar signs in their eyes as they drool over the idea of taking my money.
