Sod?

have an area that is pretty much dead, i am wanting to lay sheet of new grass. is there a tool to rent that will scrap the old grass off or do i just lay the new sheet on top of the old grass?

there are sod cutters, but if it's all dead, lay on top of I'd say.

Till it, pick up the dead grass with a metal rake, not sure if you can lay down some fertilizer, and lay SOD down.

But, I can be wrong since ive never done it.

Before you do all that, do you know why it is pretty much dead and how do you know its dead? Because throwing some dirt down and another piece of sod might not be the thing to do until figuring out why that little section died

Didnt think of that, it did try and grow back but weed grew. Its been yellow the last year. I have also placed fungicide and fertilzer on that spot.

Post pics of how it looks. I've had yellow spots before, and added Scotts Fungus killer and cleared it up. All green and shit now. lol

Its not going to happen overnight or in 1/2 weeks. My grass looked like crap when I bought the crib, but now its finally starting to look better.
