I put some down a 2 or 3 weeks ago, and it started coming up a week ago. I put more down yesterday, hopefully it didn't get washed out. I raked as much dead grass out of the spots where no grass was going, put a thin later of dirt over the spots, then spread my seed, then raked it into the fresh dirt.

May 21, 2012 when I bought the house this is what it looked like...

Almost 4 years later, I think it looks a ton better. Pics are from today, and I need to mow again. I also need to call true green as my neighbors Dallis grass is creeping back into my lawn again.

I have bushes similar to what you have in the pic except mine are out of control. Can I trim them down to about 2 feet tall without killing it? Also, will the leaves fill in by doing so? They will basically be twigs and branches once I trim them to the size I want.

Believe it or not but I don't trim these. They don't seem to grow really.

Anyone know a company that makes weed fertilizer? Yeah, weed fertilizer, because apparently the weed killer I use does nothing but make them greener... I'm gonna try reverse psychology next!

In my experience, keep the soil soft(not too compacted because it's a shallow rooting turf), too much sun burns it, so some shade, a good fert and DON'T over water, you'll cause fungus.

I hear Racetrac sells a good weed fert, all the way to 91 octane at that.

                      • Cut the grass on Friday and have been getting pretty much non stop sprinkling and rain throughout the week. I need to cut it again but its still a little to squishy.

                        • I've used all this rain to train my Bermuda at a much lower height.

                            • I didn't mean to imply "my shits lower than yours." Lol. I was just mentioning my own plan matter of fact. Yours is greener than mine at the moment. I was at around 1.5"-2.0", so I'm still training it at 1".

I'm using an ego mower. They weigh so little it doesn't scalp. Soon I'll drop down lower, weather permitting. I'm just trying to thicken it up.
