oh man no worries i was just letting you know what mine was set at. It does hit a couple of spots that scalp but come back green in about 3 days or so.

I fertilize once a month with Milorganite one bag for the back and one bag for the front.

    • Grass kinda got it's ass kicked while I was installing these rocks for a tree ring. I've got one more to do and then I'll do a similar wall around my flower beds up front. These are a lot of work by the way.

      • For those interested, hopefully zemog doesn't mind, this is the calendar he sent me last year. This is not from the same website, it seems that one has been taken down, I found an identical calendar here.

I used this schedule last year, with no soil test, and had excellent results in my front yard. The back yard, I am still considering a lost cause.

        • For granular use a 50% slow release every 6 weeks, put down 1# of nitrogen per 1000 square foot . I always use a fert that has micro nutrients and has an insecticide impregnated on it .

Any particular brands available at home depot you recommend?

                  • Should you continue to use preemergents throughout the year to prevent crab grass?

Also, has anyone dethatched their lawn? Results worth the trouble?

I think preemergent should be used multiple times in a year.

If you have a crabgrass issue, this stuff wiped out ALL of the crabgrass I had showing up in my backyard.

On that note, I am a little baffled by these bottles you put on your water hose. They say they will cover 6000 to 8000 sq feet. Everytime I use them they cover about a 1/4 of that. Am I doing something wrong? The Image bottle I used said it covered 6,000 sq feet but it probably covered 1500.

Was your crabgrass new or existing? I'm seeking a product to kill all of mine off but most of mine has been there for years. The individual patches on some are 12+ inches.

They are new this year because I stopped using a lawn service. But they were a foot high before I cut them and sprayed Image.

Granted, that bottle was not cheap. I got it on sale for $15 and it only covered about 1000 sq ft, but it killed it all. I was luckily able to hit the spots where it was growing. Wish I took a before and after.

Now, to get rid of some dallis grass.

You need to buy a decent sprayer. Those things are made to run you out fast so you can buy more. They are not precise.

So people empty these bottles into a hand held sprayer and treat the yard? how do you know if the mixture is potent enough?

read the bottle...it should show the mix. You can also buy the same stuff in the non spray top bottle.
