Usually $45-50 per treatment and usually about every 5-6 weeks they come out. They should be aerating the lawn soon like they did last spring. Don't recall how big it is, not a huge lot but fairly large for suburbia.

Maybe this year I'd agree with that, but for the past few years I was fighting weeds and especially Dallisgrass that I just couldn't kill without harming everything around it. While they were scheduled to do like 11 or 12 treatments last year, I made them come out about every 1.5 weeks to treat the dallisgrass again as it takes a very aggressive treatment to get rid of it. So far, so good, but it did take them most of the year to get rid of all the weeds. I'll mow this weekend and take a pic. Either way, overall I've been happy with the service and cost.

Are you locked in to a contract with Trugreen?

A neighbor of mine is wanting to use them this year. I don't know anything about how they work.

I just signed up for this because they happen to be in the neighborhood. It was $580 for the year with 10 treatments and aerating the yard and I didn't have to sign anything, so I'm guessing it's a year to year thing.

Here's a couple quick pics from the backyard. There's way more grass this year than last year when I bought the home. I realize these are very vivid, they're from my cell phone but the yard is pretty damn green right now.

Anyone able to tell what kind of grass this is? The shoots aren't real wide and grow upward.

This is what I thought might be the winter rye. Any clues? The shoots are much thinner and it's real soft to walk on. Pretty much stays down for a while when you walk through it.

it may be too late for the first round of pre emergence but it will be helpful to do one now as well....weed don't stop seeding out just because its "past the app time". We treat 4 times per year and there is a reason for it.

You sure it's St. Augustine? It doesn't have a runner like St. Augustine. Any clue what the real fine grass is?

The real fine "grass" is the weed. It takes over the yard pretty quickly and then makes those little white flowers.

I think what looks like St. Augustine is another weed I have in my yard. It grows in clusters really quickly and tall. Its not Dallis or Crabgrass. I honestly don't know the name.

Well shit. I thought I had some sort of nice rye grass or something of the like coming in. It looks way better than Dallis/Crabgrass, that's for sure.

I think we're down to 600 a year for TG and are doing the monthly payment thing with them (Started at a yearly rate). That's on an acre or so of actual grass and crap. It's slowly making a difference out here.

Understand that we're just all about weed killing and some fertilizing - that price does not include aeration with it.

The #1 thing I found about TG, is don't accept their first price or their second and it's up to you if you want to keep battling through the 3rd price. Like anywhere, the service is all about the folks that have the job. However, when I first contacted them - I was shopping other folks as well and just was uneasy about the whole thing. However, TG kept doing counter offers and I noted a couple neighbor's lawns that were pretty good so I gave them a shot.

The dude that comes around here is cool, works hard and at least to my untrained eye is thorough. He mostly comes back out to retreat without prompting from us to the company.

Just like home warranty service, I find I get better service here than I did when I tried in Plano though. Better Joes who are hungry for the business and continuation of business afterwards.

yes 86 is correct on second look , (my mistake), if that is a clump grass and the leafs have what looks like hairs on the leaf then that's large crabgrass, I haven't seen any in my areas (Granbury, weatherford, aledo), but that's not to say you don't have it. What city do you live in??

$600/yr for an acre? All the quotes I got last year from other services were $2500-4000. Im on an acre. The measured treatment area was 32k sqft

I'm completely lost with what you meant in bold. I live in Richardson. No hairs on the leaf for my grass.

I have seen it before from them, there quote guy works off of commission and then the applicator works from his quota.

I would be at $1700 for an acre and that's the works, fert, insecticides (ants and grub included) pre and post emergence, disease and nutsedge.

mstg86 said it looked like a clump weed (what I first saw as st aug)
if it is a clump then he is correct, its hard to tell from the pic if that's a stand of grass or multiple clumps grown together.
