  • Quit bein lazy and pull that shit by the roots. That's the only way I know to get rid of it without making your yard look worse, and if you get the entire nodule, it's not gonna come back.

      • Dallis grass is a bitch, easiest cheapest method is to round up it and let the grass grow in if its just a few lumps , if your lawn is covered up with it your lawn guy or you can do a combo spray of revolver/ celcius combo to kill it ( this will kill st ugustine also) it will take 2-3 applications 2-3 weeks part. Celcius is labeled for it alone but will take several apps. Revolver is extremely expensive ( one quart is around 250-300 last I remember ) only use this combo on Bermuda or zoysia

You have to declare war on them, and rip their fucking heads clean off with your bare hands.

To be accurate, you have to rip off their heads and spines.

I have random small clumps here and there. Maybe 10 in my bi back yard. I actually go out there and pull off the sprout part with the seeds that Pop up. Hoping that contains them.

I kept it at bay last year bu bagging when I mowed. I left the earlyvseason lawn duties to my lawn guy and he doesn't have a bagging attachment. He has been sick and not able to mow as frequently as I need, or the weeks of rain we have had hasn't allowed it. So, when he does mow, the seeds get spread all over the damn lawn. I have crab grass all over my front yard

                • Damn, looks good. I wish my neighbors took care of their lawn like that.

We have an hoa. I would say 70% of the yards in my hood are compliant with their grass.

My yard has definitely been a work in progress. I moved in with huge dirt spots on the front and a ton of Dalis in the back. It's taken 3 years to get to this. I just need to kill about 10 Dalis plants in the middle of te backyard. It's hard to see, but we have tried gardening with little success. With the exception of the herb garden. It blew up in spring.

The yard takes a solid 2 hours for me to do it all by myself.

                      • I bought a weed burner I'm going to try on the Dallis grass I have. We will see how it goes. The root systems on them are huge and requires quite a bit of backfilling with dirt if you pull them.

Which is why I prefer not to pull out the shovel, like most people advise to do. If you have a lot, that's a big problem.

                          • Best way to kill the Dallis grass it to wait until the Bermuda goes dormant and spray with roundup. Just keep mowing and wait until the fall/winter to kill it

                            • I tried exactly that and it always returned. This year I ripped everyone one of them out by hand when the ground was wet, and they are officially gone.

I started to do this, then I went back to chemical warfare. too many divets and far too time consuming
