  • First mow of the year frustratiobs

First lawn cut of the year and I'm already sick of the weed eater. I can't take another summer of the string mess. Shit gets tangled, won't feed out when cutting. Such a hassle.

Does anyone use another system for weed eating. I've seen like plastic blades and these snap on tie string things. Anyone got any ideas? Fuck string spools.

it wont feed out if you tap it on the ground?

Nah. I'm sure it's fixable but just so frustrating. Ready to change the system

Hell, i just picked up my leaves for the first time. Mulch bag was a BIG help.
I hate the weed eater too, seem i run thru the string fast and always stopping to pull it out.

If they're going through that much string, it sounds like they're running it too close to the ground/concrete which means they'll probably have similar issues with the blades.

I don't have any problems with mine...I might have to restring it every 4-5 weeks if I mow every week.

Don't go cheap on the line. Buy the best line you can if you are using the weed eater to edge the yard.

To the OP, it sounds like you aren't wrapping the line correctly on the head.

I've got a fixed line trimmer. It uses .105 I think line, so I cut one piece about 16" and thread it thru the head and rock and roll.

I have a Stihl combi-head and can attach string trimmer, blade trimmer, edger, and blower (I have all the attachments). Buy good string in the highest diameter your motor will turn and wind it properly. You shouldn't have any trouble.
