I am trying to finish up some things in our house before the baby comes. The master bath is something I want to try and finish up, in addition to the kitchen cabinets and remodel.
We picked this up for a song over the weekend:
I have a slab of Thunder Cream granite to sit on top of it that is going to look killer. I just need to find a granite installer. I will have to re-tile due to the new vanity being more of a furniture type piece with feet.
My biggest decision is what to do with the master shower. Our house is a 3/2 and I am trying to decide whether to convert the master shower/tub combo to a stand up shower, or go back with a shower tub combo. I feel like maintaining the tub/shower combo in the guest bath should suffice and not take a hit on resale value. Walk into the master bathroom and the shower is a nice full tile stand up shower with frame less shower glass. Either way the shower is getting re-done in both bathrooms because they are the old one piece fiberglass units in a biscuit color.
If I go with a stand up shower, should I do cultured marble or just a drop in acrylic from a home store?
So we are planning new tile, rip out the soffit/furr down that is above the vanity and scrape the popcorn ceilings, new vanity, re-doing the shower, and most likely a new commode.
