they have had all in one washer/driers for a while now.

they're expensive, and obviously slower/less efficient at getting the job done than a separate setup.

FWIW, I put nice LG front loaders in our little house, and they've been flawless for 5yrs. I put another set in the new house. I bought both sets from Home Depot during big sales. I'm not going to spend hours on the net searching for the best deal to save a couple hundred bucks beyond HD's best sale prices. Plus they deliver and install for free.

I got mixed up. Washers and driers were/are LG, not GE. We went GE with all of the other appliances in the little house

We probably use ours way more than a normal person does. Our salon does not have washer/dryer.

I wound up buying the Whirlpool (made in the USA) since the SpeedQueens were double the price. We are empty nesting so need for the heavy duty SPs. Looks like twice a month laundry now. These were the Cabrio digital instaed of knobs, the next step up were just bigger and then after that they come in colors but those almost double in price. I was able to score an adtional 5% on the washer and 10% on the dryer since it was an open box plus free delivery which includes hook up and taking away the boxes. Lowes was having a decent sale these are the model numbers in case anyone was wondering.

We have a set of Samsung front loaders, so far no issues. I did have to turn the door around on the dryer to allow for easier loading from the washer.

After reading your posts on here on the front loaders and reviews, I decided on top loader washer and of course all Dryers are front load with a door. Also on the FLs if you want the pedestals they are over two hundo more per, some come with them but its built into the price. I've had good luck with last two sets of Kenmore units so we'll see how these last...

Front load, we have Electrolux and they have been flawless. But looks like you already made a purchase.

Lyn washed 2 to 3 loads of micro fiber cloths a day before, so we went with the LG big-ass front loader pair. I think the washer is over 5 CF and the dryer is around 9 or so. Best thing, she now can do all those cloths in one load. Runs quiet, cleans the shit outa stuff, and no issues in over 1 1/2 years. They get used a lot too. They are massive tho, I bet Lyn could fit inside the dryer!

                  Edit: Here is the washer:
