Anyone have any opinions? Front loaders, top loaders, steam options, both top, front and dryers have this option now. I've been reading reviews, but this is my go to place, everyone should have an opinion since everyone needs clean clothes, tia...

We went with a Speed Queen top loader this time. The last Samsung and Maytag with all the fancy electronics were problematic.

We bought front load when we moved in 2010. I had to change the belt and roller wheels on the dryer once. We bought the one step above basic ones though and not the $1K each. I like them, but the washer does not get clothes as clean as the old top load with agitator. If we don't presoak the boys' baseball uniforms or work clothes that are covered in dirt or grime, they don't come close to being clean.
Oh, and I'm going back to top load whenever we have to replace them.

The Speed Queens seem to have the best warranty and are top loaders. If i buy middle of the road and USA built (ie: Whirlpool/Maytag) They only come with a 1 year warranty and I have to spend almost a hundo or more for 3/5 years extra. The speed queens are commercial grade and built in the USA (Wisconsin).Originally posted by SilverbackLook all you want, she can't find anyone else who treats her as bad as I do, and I keep her self esteem so low, she wouldn't think twice about going anywhere else.

I've had great luck with Whirlpool front loaders. If you keep the door open when not in use they will not mildew. I bought their first consumer set back in the day and had them for 12 years and they still worked fine. Left them in my old house in TX, new buyers wanted them.

I've got a pair of front loading Whirlpool Duet's that we bought back in '03 or so. They've been great. Not too many bells and whistles, not that they had many options back then. We leave the washer door cracked open when not in use and never have a smell issue. I've replaced the door seal on the washer once. When I'm in a position to buy again, it will most likely be Whirlpool and from Costco so if there's ever an issue, that shit will go right back to them for another one.
Fun Story: We're in Costco a couple of weeks ago and some dude was returning an 8 PERSON HOT TUB to the tune of $4999.99. It took about 15 employees to unload it from his trailer and they actually wheeled that big son of a bitch up to the customer service desk. It looked like it was at least 6-7 years old and hadn't been used in years. They took it back and didn't say shit. He walked right over to the next computer and ordered another one.
