  • Small area, pavers, or grass, or what else?

We are like 99% sure we are moving to a new house. The back yard has a pool, and several levels of the back yard are decking fro the pool with steps. Right off the patio to each immediate side is a rock flower bed area, like river rocks instead of dirt, and some plants. Although it looks really nice, for my small dogs, especially the blind one, it will be a problem to walk across to go use the grass area to piss/crap.

I'm thinking of what to do, after removing the rocks and plants, so it is an easier transition to walk on for them.
    1. Pavers all lined up and pretty even to walk across easier
    2. Artificial turf. No grass, as it might blow all over the other decking and get into the pool when mowing
    3. Grass, but as mentioned in 2 above, might get into the pool, even with the bagger attached, and not sure if they have sprinkler heads there to water it

    4. your ideas

It is both side in this pic, at the very top, hard to see tho.

Edit: I should say similar style flat stones, instead of pavers, just realized it would look much better to be the same shit! Pool is 13 months old, don't wanna go cheap on the re-designed area!

I'm surprised he's lasted this long actually!

You don't know the kind of pool parties we've had (at the old Hurst house). Some were legendary.

I would do flagstone and some sort of smaller decorative rock to fill the voids. Decomposed granite, IMO, would be too small/fine and end up in the pool. Pea gravel maybe...

Similar style flatstone would look good. Also keep in mind that with grass or maybe turf the dogs might get lazy and shit where you walk.

Indeed they were! Anytime I entertain the idea of a pool here I always end up back at a setup similar to yours.. I always had fun drinking and playing volleyball amongst all the other shenanigans that went on.

Rockin' house, hope y'all get it!

Thick flagstone fill with Canadian small around flagstone-it will settle and essentially make one pretty flat surface. Like this

Well fuck, not getting the house, backed out today. I was told it is a 3 car garage and the owners put up a wall to make a "workout room". Well, not true! The builders put in the wall, and AC/heat duct work. It is zoned a 2 car garage, the builder (Drees) says it is a 2 car garage, so we walked away.

Sucks too, I was hoping what they said was true, I could just knock down that wall and have a 3 car, tandem style garage. Nope, not that easy!

Anyone want a nice 3-3-2 house in Roanoke? I'll send ya the address! The inside was nice, and 3 full bathrooms in a 3 bedroom home, bonus!
