Radio antenna for shop radio?

When the doors are closed on my metal shop my radio reception goes to crap. Anyone have an exterior antenna suggestion ? Looking online theres a gazillion choices. Want something "reasonably" priced.

I'm in the sticks. My only internet choices are satellite and a wireless hot spot. I have the hot spot, it won't work in the shop either.

Some ota tv antennas also can be used for fm. That it what we have at the shop.

I saw one of the cheapie flexible antennas that everyone had in the early 90's set up on a building for the same reason.

Depending on the distance from the signal source, that might be all that's needed.

all this guy needed was the antenna outside of the metal building to get reception.

On mine I used the little wire antennae that plugs into the back of the receiver and has a single small wire attached. I rant it up the corner and out under the roof of mine. It just dangles out the corner but works great.

Humm, I have access to an old TV antenna. Maybe I'll try to hook it up and see in that works, then I guess I could install it if it works..Have to see just how big it is.

Man, I would say any of the 10-20 dollar ones you see on Amazon would do the trick. Just run the wire out shop, mount antenna high up...seal hole...done. FM reception is nothing fancy or anything.

No shit. My paper clip antenna does the trick at work.

These metal buildings kill pretty much all reception, including cellular and wifi. You can forget streaming anything in my shop....all the buffering will piss you off pretty quick when you are trying to get some work done. I struggled with it for a little while myself, and finally broke down and bought an antenna to hang outside of the shop. Since I'm a little outside of the city limits I figured it wouldn't hurt to also get one with a power booster, and it has worked out great!

It was cheap and easy to mount, and I get excellent reception on the TV and stereo both now. I just put a splitter between my stereo receiver and TV, and have them both connected on the coax coming from the antenna.
