So I had an interesting conversation with a home theatre set up company. When I hung my TV on the wall I ran the HDMI cable and the power cable through the cutout box behind the tv down to the cutout for my wires at the bottom by the trim and plugged everything in.
All pretty, but I couldn't pull my tv out but about an inch without it pulling itself out of the tv. I decided to call the pros and ask if it would be fine hooking up an extra tv power cable to extend it and he quickly said no and also said that the power cable shouldn't even be in the wall in the first place and is against code. I had to order this [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Datacomm-45-0023-WH-Recessed-Pro-Power-Straight/dp/B00193QP92/ref=pd_sim_23_9?ie=UTF8&dpID=31WBr9mkWbL&dpSrc=sim s&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=0C7XTP81RRGJ BFE4XBHK"]http://www.amazon.com/Datacomm-45-0023-WH-Recessed-Pro-Power-Straight/dp/B00193QP92/ref=pd_sim_23_9?ie=UTF8&dpID=31WBr9mkWbL&dpSrc=sim s&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=0C7XTP81RRGJ BFE4XBHK[/ame] for behind the tv and for the bottom and hook it up with some romex and get it all up to code.
just wanted to post about it in case any of yall had ran your cables in the wall like I did.
