  • Pool help

The previous owners left us no directions with the pool and no markings are on the valves. Anyone have any ideas on where to turn for vacuum and backwash? The valve on the left cuts off water if turned 180 and the right will change pressure in the filter but that's all I've figured out

The t-handle in the back should be for back wash. But you will have to add d.e. if its a d.e. filter.

The valve on the left is the suction side and it is wide open at the moment. The valve on the right is the water returning to the pool. To tell you what it does I would need to see your pool. What part of town are you in? If you are in my service area I will come by and mark the valves for you.

Honestly, go to Leslie's and make friends with them. They are too expensive in my book but I used them for the first few weeks to help get to know my pool. Now that I have a good understanding, I buy most chemicals online but if a new question pops up, I can take pics up to them. The one here in grapevine has staff moderately knowledgable.

+2. I see it after looking at the piping locations.

I never get out that way.

How many skimmers does your pool have? Can you see the hole for the pipe in the skimmer when you remove the basket or is the something in the way? It there a fitting in the wall of the pool that has a spring loaded door covering the opening? Is there a water feature? How about a pool cleaner? Can you post a pic of the pool?
