Found a Yamaha RX-v2700 at a pawn shop today for a steal at $80. I'm pretty sure it was mislabeled as this thing retailed for $1200 a few years ago and is 7.1. I can't tell you how impressed I am with this thing. It's a major step up from my "home theatre" in a box I've been rocking. I just have it hooked up to some basic Kenwood bookshelf and center channel speakers and no sub (5.0 know what I'm sayin) but I'm happy. Next step is to find a decent deal on a powered sub since my current crappy one was driven by my old receiver.

Good find. A strong receiver for $80. The only downside is the lack of on board decoding of high definition soundtracks (e.g., Dolby TruHD, DTS-MA, etc..) and no 3D pass through. However, you can let your Bluray decode on the fly and send it to the receiver via PCM.
Here is the bench test for that receiver. http://www.audioholics.com/av-receiv...s-and-analysis
