Can they be replaced? Or does the whole unit need to be replaced? AC works great, no issues at all. Below is a picture of what im talking about. (Not my unit)

The condensing coil can be replaced but several factors should be considered. Age of unit, cost of replacement unit etc. When the coil starts leaking those questions will need to be answered. Until it starts leaking, there will be some performance degradation in the coils heat exchanging capability.

If the coil is unable to remove enough heat from the compressed refrigerant, it could result in damage to the compressor.
