I have had my cub cadet rider for 3 years. Never touched the blades. is it worth sharpening them or just replace them? Discuss...

Lot cheaper to sharpen them. Put them in vice and use handheld grinder to sharpen.
I tried bench grinder, but it's easier with vice and handheld. I sharpen mine every year. Going on 4 years.

I've just got a push mower, but like Rafa said I pull it off and put it in the vise and I just use a file.

      God bless.

Yeah if they are REAL bad I'll use a bench grinder to get them close and then hand file from there. At worst it is a 30-45 minute process for 3 blades.

I just prop up the mower, start the engine and file it while the blade is spinning. Takes like 30 seconds and you barely have to move your arms.

i find it best to just now over a pile of rocks. It will self sharpen and you can just keep on going.

Call a mower shop and ask how much to sharpen them. Mr.C's in Bedford was $4 last time I had one done.

                              How about:

Where to get hardened lawnmower blades that don't need to be sharpened
