Look all you want, she can't find anyone else who treats her as bad as I do, and I keep her self esteem so low, she wouldn't think twice about going anywhere else.
I don't feed mine whole turkeys or salads, but I have a high end disposal that gets used regularly.
No issues to date. YMMV
Curious, how long have you been doing it that way? I often wondered if that aspect is being ultra paranoid or not. Food is organic and I would think that bacteria would break it down too. I can understand large paper items (towels, tissues) could build up.

I have a regular septic system with a purpose built disposal. In sink erator makes it, has a injection port you plug a bottle of enzyme to. Regular use (daily) a bottle lasts me 1 year and they're extremely cheap. Had the tank pumped last month and the dude said everything looked well.
We have been using septic safe toilet tabs to clean the toilet as you flush. Probably been 6 months since we have used the chlorine tabs and zero smell issues. Pretty sure lowes offers a class to maintain your own septic which could save you 200/year. Only thing you need to septic co for is pumping every once in a blue moon
In regards to doing own maintenance, I heard about the class and in grayson county it's like 200 bucks for a day.
However, my air pump went out again and last time it was 500 dollars to replace this time it is 575. In a correction to an earlier post they went up in cost but they can still be had for less than 200 dollars.
My question is from a details perspective are homeowners authorized to replace their own pumps or could they be fined? I think with the class you're fine, just not sure about without the class.
It's just the power wires and an single hose to connect. Government regulations tend not to leave wiggle room for common sense though.
