If you're doing work yourself, many municipalities do not require a permit. If you're paying someone to do the work, typically they should be pulling permits. Regardless, it varies by city, so you really should contact your city to confirm what's needed.

LMAO.. How stupid! All about the $$.

Are you in Fort Worth? if so, you got your answer. Call 817-392-2222 and ask!

FWIW, if I was was doing it myself, and my work was not visible from the street, forget about a permit.

Yeah, fuck pulling a permit on anything that isn't visible from outside. They really can't prove anything.

Yep. Just don't leave your old construction trash or water heater out for bulk pickup. Most city inspectors are known to go out trolling on or around bulk trash day.

no permit needed if you did it yourself.

if you had a plumber do it and he didnt pull a permit, just keep his number and liscense number on hand, and play stupid.

Lots of cities dont require a permit for a deck unless its over 30" high.

would have to build some kind of retaining wall since its against the neighbors fence.
