  • What can I do to the lawn?

The lawn is growing weeds like crazy and I had stickers last year that I would like to get rid of. What product can I apply this time of year?

There is some ortho max in an orange bottle you hook up to your water hose. I can't remember the exact name, but I tried just about everything last year and it was the only thing that killed all the weeds and stickers.

The end of this month will be pre-emergent time for spring/summer weeds.

You'll want to kill the stickers, and getting the stickers out can be done by putting a piece of scrap carpet on the back of your mower to collect them. My mom's back yard was full of them, and we finally rid the yard of them this way.

I'll add - if you're mulching - stop. You must bag to keep from spreading the stickers. Also, mow it short and mow it often.

Yeah, bagging blows but it helps a little.

since 99% of my grass is still dead from the winter, i'm hitting the weeds that pop up right now with round up.

              god bless.

                This.

Your grasses grow and spread via roots and shoots. Weeds spread by seed. I had a similar situation and 3 years of pre-emergent did the job.

This. Spot treat what is greening now, it is also time for a pre emergent. Then, be sure to fertilize when it is time. Help the grass grow and choke out remaining weeks.

I've got an acre and I use a riding mower with a trailer sprayer from tractor supply. I round up the entire place around this time as well as put out preemergent. Works wonders with Bermuda as it's dormaint this time of year. Then I spot spray with msma throughout the rest of the year. A good watering schedule helps prevent sandburrs as well as previously stated bagging and frequent mowing

Do you get any of your supplies from a feed store or local nursery?

I buy the roundup in the concentrate formula and mix myself. The MSMA I've had for a few years but if you can still find it it would be located at a small town feed store. It's an arsenic and is nothing to play with but works amazingly well for Bermuda grass

If it's green now, it's definitely weeds/unwanted? I have St. Augustine but have a few green patches in one corner of my front lawn.

Yea if you have St Augustine then you can't do the round up/ msma treatment.
