  • Tub to shower conversion anyway around 2" drain?

Ripped all of it out down to the studs and was going to put in a 2" shower drain with piping but I would probably have to cut the rebar as well as a few inches of the concrete to get to the beginning of the pipe, anyway around it?

If I dont cut it the top of the drain is 4" off the bottom of the floor around it. The johnbridge forum said i should cut it like its no big deal

Are you just cutting down the pipe or moving it? You should be able to cut it down 2" and put your new drain on. Dont forget your shower pan height.

Trying to figure pan height as well was only planning to do a 1" high pan but might have to do 2"

moving it a few inches forward from the opening since the 2 90 turns and its too close to the wall.

I could try to cut it a few inches to adjust hmm

Im assuming that pipe is in a hole. Are you just taking the same tub space and not adding? The easiest route in my opinion would be pony up and just do a linear drain. They are really nice and make tiling easy. If you do a linear drain, you really only have to slope the floor towards the drain.

If you really want to move the drain, dig out more around the drain. Use an inside pipe cutter and glue your elbow rebar. If there is enough space, dig down a little more around the pipe, and have the elbow sit on top of the rebar. I dont think you need 2" pvc either. I believe shower drains can be 1 1/2" (or used to be). We did 1 1/2" and they drain just fine. Using 1 1/2 would lessen your height by using smaller fittings.
