Our old house was built in '71 and it didn't have any.

Buy a decent one... I put in Panasonic fans and they are almost silent. They arent cheap but pull a lot of air.

Also, are you just going to vent them into the attic?

Best thing would be to pull it thru the roof. I dont know what the pro and cons are if it is just vented to the attic. Would be cheap also if we just went to the attic.

I just did mine myself and it was pretty simple.
Hardest part for you will be running the electrical.
Get a Panasonic as mentioned(I opt'ed to add heat as well), and you can vent to roof or wall or attic(not preferred).

I personally vented to the wall and changed out to aluminum ducting and used band clamps to secure the hose.

The potential issue is moisture build up in the attic.

They are easy to install. Venting to the attic isn't really a problem unless you have an extremely tight attic. I've installed several in homes and do it all the time in commercial buildings.

I have a few of these I'm not going to use if you're interested. They have great reviews, look good, and I was able to pick them up for half price.
