I had one burst a few years ago. Discovered as I was literally walking with my luggage to the car in the garage to drive to the airport.
A quick few phone calls said $1k parts/labor. We stopped at home depot on the way to DFW and bought a new one and had a family member come by that afternoon to replace it for me since I was gone.
But ours was easy to access
