after tearing out the tile of three bathrooms, remodeling and putting new tile in three bathrooms, scrapping the ceilings of popcorn and retexturing them all with knockdown, replacing every outlet and light fixture in the house, and putting crown molding up.....it was time to pay someone else

I did this past spring to remove carpet and put down wood floors. They come in and do a pre-install with lasers to measure exactly the dimensions of every room. They will glaze over something about "if" your floor is not level. Well that is where they gig ya. On the day of the install, after the carpet is removed the team will come in with a 10' beam and pass it over the concrete in all rooms.
First of all there is NO slab 100% level. They will charge you to level the floor with a very liquid material, let it dry 1 day and come back the next day and sand it "level" with a 10" hand held disc grinder! The floor was actually worse after! The installer agreed with me that that shit is a waste of time, but it is their SOP. My extra charge would have been close to 500 bucks!
I pitched a flaming bitch and said I was not paying for that. After I demanded my money back they acquiesced and did the "leveling" job free.
They did a great job of installing the floor and it looks great! However they have this little "leveling" racket going. IMHO
So heads up.

Every installer and every area is different. We had a great experience. We had 1200 square feet and they were in and finished installation the same day. These are poor pictures but it really looks amazing, and a flawless install job!
