#1 rated many places... I got it on sale from amazon with the fathers day $20 off $100. This thing rocks. Its light and works great. No safety like my last one had. If you arent in a rush, it goes on sale every once in a while. It was ~$80 with the discounts when I bought it.
Is yours that exact one (with the brake)? Home Depot shows that it is 14 lbs. (Amazon says 8.8).

I looked at and held the version without the brake at HD and liked it a lot. I assume that is a HD misprint?

EDIT: Oh and screw thumb safeties. When I try to use my left hand on my miter saw it annoys me every time.

Its the lightweight one with the brake.
This DEWALT Lightweight Circular Saw with Electric Brake offers smooth cutting with durable high quality performance. Base constructed of high-grade aluminum.

The weight listed is probably with the bag and box that it comes in. The actual saw is 8.xlbs and rocks

Skil is made by Bosch. It's a good saw at an economical price. If you're not depending on the saw to earn you money, you'll be better off buying the lower priced Skil saw and then spending a few bucks more on a good carbide blade. The blade is just as important if not more so than the saw.

If you plan on doing serious rip cutting, then you should look at a worm drive saw. I have an older version of this saw, and it rip cuts 16' pieces of 2" x 8" rough cut cedar like slicing through paper.

I too have some Skil saws, worst problem I have is a skill issue and cutting the cords. I'd imagine more expensive ones would be better, but I generally have no issues with the Skil saws.

I used a cheap skil for 5-6 years before the blade wobbled bad enough that it wouldn't cut accurtely any more. I replaced it with a rigid a few years ago for just under $100. It is heavier than the skill but it cuts better and smoother
