^^^ yup pools suck. Learn how to do it yourself or deal with a pool guy.

I maintain mine year round and I've come close to filling it in with dirt many-a-times.

My yard looks the worst I've ever seen it. A mixture of trees needing pruning and dry as hell.

Mine's not too big of a deal, but I dont like having to dick with chemicals and Id rather be swiming than cleaning.

I typically don't start with sprinkler watering until mid may , then only once per week until temps move into upper 90's consistently , then twice per week, some have to go 3 times but that's usually the max

If you ever get time, can you give us a "Making your lawn look good for dummies"? Suggestions on products, watering schedules, etc. I have read your old posts through here many times and feel like I dont know much.

I got a pool guy that's decent now but I had to stay on his ass for about two months. Now the pool is in tip top shape and I don't have to do a single thing to it.

Yes. Grass blades hold nutrients just like the rest of the plant, returning them to the soil is beneficial

i try and cut in different direction to minimize big grass cliplings. i also cut at the third highest setting when mowing. you never want to mow low.

Depends on the grass, nearly all Bermuda grass now days is 419 which is a hybrid Bermuda , it is much better mowed low, we cut tee boxes and fairways at 3/4" or less, now that's not real feasible for most home lawns because they are simply to rough . I start my lawns at the lowest setting on my rider and second to lowest on the push mower ( toro commercials). Basically I scalp them down in early spring and gradually raise throughout the year , I try and keep as low as possible. Everyone always says they mow as high as possible to shade the ground, i use a dense turf to shade the ground and It keeps sprinklers above the turf , a lot of people get in trouble with irrigation because there sprinklers only truly cover after the first couple of days , then the grass is above the sprinkler . I do st Augustine much the same, I know this goes against many peoples beliefs but it's why my lawns are the best looking around . A lot of the difference you see in that pic is the neighbor didn't take down his lawn in the spring and you see the dead grass through the turf where mine is all green from top to bottom.
                      Geez sorry for the ramble

I had one come yesterday, get about halfway done and then stops after a phone call to tell me that they couldnt service my pool, and started bullshit about area and time and conditions.

I guess his boss pulled the plug, cause he was all gung-ho.

My neighbors have a great pool guy, but he won't go to Colleyville to do my brother's house, so I'm guessing your place is probably too far too.
