So can you turn a tub into a shower?

Keep getting and reading mixed info online about to redo 2nd bathroom and it needs tub replaced. Rather than do that can I make it a shower? Reading online some say you have to jackhammer and expand drain others say no?

You can convert a tub to a shower. The drain will be offset from the middle and you will have to slope the pan towards the drain. Plenty of people do it.
