Same. I keep a spare on hand because I go through one every summer. Last year at the recommendation of a friend, I installed a hard start capacitor in addition to the regular capacitor. He said it should stop frying capacitors and help them last longer. I think the hard start was around $25. I haven't had to replace a capacitor since, but we also haven't hit the hot months yet. You might want to look in to a hard start if both of you have older systems.

Usually when a capacitor keeps going bad the motor or compressor is overamping. Not every single time but. 8/10 times.

I will now say careful who you use. Got a third opinion. Swapped capacitor, fan, compressor WAS working just low on refridge, 400$ out the door and i have left over r22 for future instances.

My heater wasn't firing every time this winter. You tubed it and there was a video that popped up first thing. Wiped down my rod with a scruffy rag and off she went. Took maybe a minute at most and cost me zero.
