  • fresh sa sod

So I put fresh sod out last weekend and have been watering it like I'm supposed to, come home today and my mom thought it'd be nice to have some guy mow my yard for me... Fucker cut it pretty low down to the runners at some spots. Do I have any chance at it growing or do I just need to plan on buying sod and starting over?

St Augustine I presume? Should be fine, might actually help it spread faster since it will be growing out instead of up.

Ah, I guess that's what SA means in the thread title. I just thought you had a stroke while posting. lol I cut mine pretty low at my old house and it did fine. IIRC I had the mower on the lowest possible setting.

I think his main concern is that it is new sod and may not have had time to root yet, not necessarily the same as an established lawn.

Probably shocked it, I would mix a touch of Super Thrive and hand water, that shit is a miracle (while Miracle Grow is not).

Hell, my lawn died every goddamn year anyway; neither was mine. That's why I hired a lawn guy for this house, back problems aside.

this. when i put it in my buddy who has a degree in that field of work told me not to do anything other than water it for a good while basically until it got shaggy.
