  • New Home Indpection

Buying a new house anybody do home inspections? I'm sure it's in good shape but would still like to have someone look at it.

What part of the Metroplex? Most won't travel too far without a trip fee.

It's in Ellis county. Is it a good idea to do this or is it a waste of money? Home was built by AGC Custom

Absolutely have it inspected. Not doing so is pretty dumb.

This. Keep in mind though, it is their job to point out EVERYTHING. Some will be minor, non issue, type stuff, others may be of concern, so much that you may want/need to renegotiate the del

We are closing on our new house tomorrow and it's a new build also. While the builder has responsibility to do everything right, they are human and it won't be perfect. Hell, we're doing our third walk through today if that tells you anything (mostly super nit-picky stuff).

I hired a professional engineer to do the inspection instead of a regular home inspector, and it was about the same price ($450).
