I need a storage shed in my back yard so I can get some stuff out of my garage. Looking at either a wood 8x8 or 10x8. I know the prefab ones are cheaper but do any of you guys have an idea of what it would cost in just materials to build one? Don't need anything fancy, just something that works & will last.

Give this place a call and ask for Billy. He is a nice guy...
Although they focus on trailers - their sheds are some of the built ones out there that I've seen. I've bought one and a few others have as well. It's best to visit them since they have a large selection.Originally posted by MR EDDU defend him who use's racial slurs like hes drinking water.

I bought an 8x10(maybe12) prefab one from Lowes while they were running a special last year. While it is not the best one out there is was fairly simple for my dad and I to install(minimum of a 2 man job) and has served its purpose well. I priced building one myself with 2x2 tubing instead of the framing the kit came with and came out more than 3x's the cost of the kit.

Just double checked his FB, his was through Homestead Sheds. His is 14x8 with a loft. I want to say he got doors on the side and end, but can only see the side from the pic. They matched the shingles to his house as well.
Guessing this place: http://www.homesteadsheds.com/
He said they had pre built walls and such, and had the whole thing complete on-site inside 5 hours.Last edited by Chili; 03-28-2014, 11:53 AM.

Tuff Shed was almost twice the cost of what I paid for mine. 8x16 or so, shingled two tone paint, two coats of paint, windows, doors, vents...loft solid construction and built/assembled on-site.
IMHO, there is nothing special about TS except the price. Buy local from what I recommended and it sounds like what Chili is recommending is same/same.Originally posted by MR EDDU defend him who use's racial slurs like hes drinking water.

I went with a 12'x20' Tuff Shed from HD. They were 10% off this weekend and I got another 10% off putting it on my HD card (will transfer funds after they complete it)
We are doing a barn style with 7' sides, 13'10" total height, a 6'7" double (6' wide) door, two 2'x3' windows, 12' of ridge vent, two 16"x8" wall vents and the heavier 3/4" tongue and groove treated flooring (smoother finish for sweeping too) and painted.
I told their rep I am short short short on time and he is going to try and get us in under the 5-7 business days. Hopefully have it done by this coming Friday so I can move everything before I go back to work on the 20th.Fuck you. We're going to Costco.
