I don't like st augustine, unless the entire yard was that type. It would be a PITA to try and throw down fertilizer/weed killer with two different types like that. I'll try some fescue. I would think since they are both thin bladed grasses, the same fertilizer/weed killer would work on it. I'll check to make sure tho!

Some people pot plants, and some people plant pot.

If it doesn't have to be grass, you should consider Asian(asiatic) Jasmine. It does very well in shade. Several houses in our neighborhood, including our house, use it underneath large trees where normal grass won't grow. You can keep it low and mow it like grass or do what I do and keep it about 10" deep and go over it with a string trimmer once a month.

high and low temp of day ads up to 140-150(optimal) is best for growing Bermuda seed, that's usually sometime in late april into may

good call on the jasamine, I don't have any in full shade, just under some trees , wasn't sure if it would grow in full shade.

a lot of the homes where there is no sun between the houses at all we just lay down some 6mil plastic and put pebble rock over it

Since this is your field of expertise. I have a service spraying my yard about every 6 weeks. I have alot of dallis grass in my backyard. They started in mid January, and the dallis grass is starting to turn green right now. Is that something that will eventually die with more treatments. I was hoping it would kill it before spring came around. The lawn guy said they don't have to use a special application, so I am assuming he is putting MSMA in his spray.

That may be, but my mom's house that she recently sold had it for the last 10+ years and it was about the only thing that would grow and look good. It may not work in the dark, but it damn sure works under trees.

he's going to have to kill it with something, you shouldn't have any weeds if he's been putting out pre emergence since January, it will take some warm weather for any herbicide to kill, but you should be seeing some yellowing or death from the warm weather we have had. look at your bill it should have what he's been spraying....I have yet to see any dallis grass on any lawns anywhere, there is lots of poa anna and even some rescue grass, that's not to say you don't have it, just haven't seen any here

My yard was nothing but weeds in the front and a lot of dallis in the grass last year.

Every weed I had is dead now, except the Dallis grass. on 1-16 they applied a pre-emergent for broadleaf weeds and on 2-21 they applied a Crabgrass pre emergent.

My yard was mostly weeds and it is brown as shit right now but I see a lot of Bermuda slowly coming in. SO I know it is working, but the dallis grass is whats bothering me. Maybe its not Dallis

with the cold winter we had those pre emergent applications should have been good, plenty of time to get into the soil. did they apply it as a liquid or granular??
